As part of the scientific achievements of the University of Shatrah, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Abbas Hassan, a faculty member at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, published a rigorous research paper in the field of pathology entitled:
"Histopathological and ultrastructural alterations reveal the hepatotoxicity of lead against Moringa: a sub-chronic chemotherapeutic trial"
The paper was published in an international journal indexed in Scopus (Q2) and Clarivate.
The study addressed the hepatotoxicity of lead through histological and structural changes observed with high-resolution electron microscopy, and investigated the possibility of using the natural compound (moringin) extracted from the Moringa plant to protect the liver or reduce lead-induced toxicity, within a therapeutic trial under sub-chronic exposure conditions.
