On Monday, October 5, 2026, the President of the University of Shatrah, Professor Dr. Bassem Abdul-Hussein Al-Ghazi, attended the central graduation ceremony of the Iraqi Al-Ain University for the academic year 2025-2026, which was held under the slogan “The Batch of the Lions of Mesopotamia,” under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul-Hussein Al-Musawi, and in the presence of the President of the Iraqi Al-Ain University, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul-Amir Marhoon.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of a number of university presidents, college deans, and an elite group of academic and social figures, in a festive atmosphere that embodied the fruit of the scientific and academic efforts made by the students during their university career.
The ceremony began with the recitation of fragrant verses from the Holy Quran, the playing of the Iraqi national anthem, and the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah as a sign of mercy for the souls of the Iraqi martyrs, followed by official speeches that reviewed the university’s progress and its scientific and academic achievements.
The ceremony program also included a documentary presentation that reviewed the most prominent stages of the Iraqi Al Ain University’s journey and its achievements, in addition to reciting the order for granting graduation certificates and taking the university oath, as well as honoring the top and distinguished students, to celebrate their scientific excellence and appreciate their efforts and achievements.
The presence of the President of the University of Shatrah at this scientific event reflects the university’s keenness to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and academic communication with Iraqi universities, strengthen institutional relations and exchange experiences, as well as the participation of university institutions in their scientific events and celebrating their students and graduates, which contributes to consolidating the spirit of integration and cooperation between institutions of higher education in Iraq.
