This laboratory is concerned with the study and application of the methods and theories used to separate, identify and determine the chemical constituents of various substances. It is generally divided into qualitative analysis, to determine the identity of elements or compounds, and quantitative analysis, to measure their proportions accurately
Main experiments and techniques:
(Titration) titration of all kinds (acid-base, oxidation-reduction, precipitation and complex formation), gravimetric analysis, preparation of standard solutions of high concentration accuracy, and measurement of pH
Basic instruments and tools:
burettes, standard and automatic pipettes, volumetric flasks, sensitive analytical balances, pH meters, and UV-visible spectrophotometers (Spectrophotometer).
