Students of the Department of Biology at the College of Education for Girls Organise an Awareness Campaign on the Dangers of Digital Addiction among Children.
As part of their educational and community role, and out of keenness to keep pace with the contemporary challenges facing the family and society, students of the Department of Biology at the College of Education for Girls – University of Shatrah organised an awareness campaign on the dangers of digital addiction among children, in the halls of the College and its academic departments.
The campaign aimed to shed light on the negative effects of excessive use of electronic devices, particularly with regard to children's mental health, poor concentration and sleep disorders, as well as the behavioural and social effects accompanying an unregulated digital world.
The campaign was held under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Muntadher Fareed and included a range of awareness activities, among them the distribution of guidance leaflets and short awareness messages that provided simplified information on the concept of digital addiction, its causes and ways of preventing it, while stressing the importance of a healthy balance between the use of technology and children's daily and physical activities.
The campaign also focused on the role of the family and the educational institution in rationalising the use of digital media, promoting positive supervision, and building early awareness among children that helps guide them towards the safe and purposeful use of modern technologies.
This initiative is part of the activities of the Department of Biology aimed at enhancing students' health and educational awareness, activating their role in serving the community, and consolidating the concept of scientific and humanitarian responsibility within the academic environment.
