Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences Lectures at a Workshop on Inverted Ankle Injury and Its Effect on Sports Performance

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah, the Student Activities Department – Sports Activities Division, in cooperation with the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, organised a workshop entitled “Inverted Ankle Injury and Its Effect on Sports Performance” today, Thursday, 4 December 2025, in the Discussion Hall.

The workshop was presented by Prof. Dr. Imad Kadhim Yasser, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the University of Shatrah, while the session was moderated by Assistant Lecturer Zain Al-Abideen Haider Ali, head of the Sports Activities Division.

The workshop addressed one of the most common injuries among athletes, the inverted ankle injury, which may appear minor on the surface but significantly affects physical ability and athletic performance, and may prevent a player from continuing training and competition. The workshop saw wide engagement from the audience through questions and discussions about the most widespread injuries and methods of prevention and treatment.

This event comes within the University of Shatrah's direction of strengthening the sports and health aspect and supporting awareness programmes that contribute to improving the safety of students and athletes and raising their awareness of common risks and how to deal with them.
