**Fatima Al-Zahraa (peace be upon her): A Role Model in Guidance, Mercy and Confronting Extremism

Workshop of the Department of English Language – on the Occasion of Guidance Week**

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Al-Ghazi,

and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Girls, Prof. Dr. Afrah Abd Maktouf Al-Ghazi,

the College of Education for Girls / Department of English Language held an awareness workshop on the occasion of Guidance Week, presented by

Asst. Prof. Dr. Asaad Abdul-Ridha

Asst. Lect. Mohammed Kareem Ali

, which addressed the personality of Lady Fatima Al-Zahraa (peace be upon her) as a pioneering model of guidance and human values.

The workshop shed light on the profound guiding role played by Al-Zahraa (peace be upon her), and how she led people from one form of guidance to another through her directions, her wisdom and her practical conduct, which embodied the highest values of morality, education and awareness. The workshop highlighted that Al-Zahraa (peace be upon her) was a school of education that taught through values before words and through example before speech.

The workshop also addressed the values of mercy embodied by Lady Al-Zahraa through her humanitarian giving and her care for those in need, which makes her an example to be followed in promoting the spirit of solidarity and social responsibility.

The workshop further discussed her role in confronting extremism, as she represented moderation, wisdom, respect for the human being and the call to dialogue, which forms an important foundation for building student awareness free of excess and deviation.

In addition, emphasis was placed on her efforts to preserve the authentic identity through her adherence to the Prophetic values and her role in safeguarding the principles that founded the consciousness of the nation.

The workshop concluded by affirming that the personality of Fatima Al-Zahraa (peace be upon her) represents an integrated model of educational and social guidance, based on:

example, mercy, awareness, moderation and the preservation of identity.

This makes her blessed biography a valuable reference to draw inspiration from in the activities of Guidance Week and in building an aware generation able to distinguish between moderation and extremism, and between authenticity and estrangement from identity.
