Under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah, and under the supervision of the Associate Dean, Lecturer Rahman Issa Safi, the Psychological Counselling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Education – Al-Dawaia organised an awareness campaign entitled "Curbing the Drug Phenomenon" on Monday, 20 October 2025, under the direct supervision of Asst. Lect. Ali Kareem Fadhala, head of the Psychological Counselling and Educational Guidance Unit.

This campaign is part of the awareness activities carried out by the College to curb negative phenomena within the university community and to promote mental health and positive behaviour among students. The campaign included the distribution of awareness booklets addressing the dangers of drug abuse to the individual and society.

The campaign aimed to spread preventive awareness among students and to create a healthy and safe university environment that encourages dialogue and conscious thinking and contributes to preventing the behavioural and psychological risks that young people may face.

The campaign received a positive response from students and faculty members, reflecting the academic community's interest in these vital issues and confirming the importance of continuing such awareness initiatives in supporting the university environment and building responsible student awareness that contributes to confronting negative phenomena within society.
