The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Shatrah discussed the master’s thesis tagged:
Identification of Bacterial isolates Associated With Ruminants skin infections in The-Qar Province
For the researcher: Heba Shaker Saad - Microbiology Branch
Supervised by: Professor Dr. Haider Khamis Shanan
This will be on Thursday, 11/5/2026, in the University Presidency seminar hall.
The study showed a prevalence of bacterial isolates causing skin lesions of 56.7%, with Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus being the most common, with a higher percentage of isolates in females. Molecular diagnosis using the 16S rRNA gene confirmed the identity of the isolates and revealed the presence of virulence genes in them, with a difference in their response to antibiotics.
The discussion committee consisted of:
1-Prof. Dargham Ali Hassan Al-Hassan - Chairman
2-A.M.D. Rafid Jawad Kazem - Member
3- A.M.D. Hakim Jawad Kazem - Member
4-Prof. Haider Khamis Shanan - member and supervisor
After extensive discussion and the student’s defense of her thesis, the committee decided to accept the thesis with some modifications.
